Escort quest failed? Svn 1614

Today I was playing a new cursed and got a quest to escort a lost anorithil on level 2 of Trollshaws. Everything was fine and I got my favorite reward, the Hymn of Perseverance. Good. The weird thing is that once I got to level 3, I got the red flashing urgent news: the anorithil died and my quest failed. My quest window says that I abandoned him to death.
