Beta 11b - Escort quests Seer blasts the bejezus out of you

Seer will happily target an enemy on the other side of you and blast away, hitting you for damage. Is it possible to get some FF intelligence in the NPC code?

11 is the first beta where i've seen the same for opponents too.
I thought i was safely hiding from that skeleton mage behind a rat and then mana beam and both me and rat dead

Yeah I changed the AI to be more reckless, NPCs with attacks that can hit their target even with their LOS block will use them.
That include beams

I definitely see the appeal of this, but in escort quests it may be a bit of a problem since it means we can not safely stand between the seer and damage (or any other escort with a distance attack) but they scarcely can take damage! In short it means some of the escorted NPC will not usually survive, I would think.

That also means NPCs will steal kills en masse now.

I was escorting a seer in a beta11 game the other day, and it was mana-bolting... me. I suppose to go through me and beam, but... it was just bolting me. A bit different than you wanted I hope.

Maybe just an animal friend (maybe a druid) seer.
