ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Playing beta10b I found a couple of (to me) new items. In one of the shops of the mage town, I saw a new artifact called "Gems and their uses". It didn't have a price listed; no, not 0, it just didnt' have one. It also doesn't have any descriptive text. I was able to purchase it, but I can't 'u'se it.

Also, there's an ego ring called "of the fish" that also lacks descriptions. Anyone else find any of these or anything else that doesn't tell you what it is? Anyone able to tell me what these do?

methinks that "book" you found is supposed to be generated somewhere, not in shops, that should be fixed. (I think I know it's use right now, it is for a quest)

The rings of fish are probably similar to amulets of the same kind, think about where fishies live and stuff like that.

If it's just a book it should show up in the "known lore" menu, isn't it there? If not, you could try to drop and get back it, just to see if doing so triggers the "lore popup message" with the text

Dropping it then picking it back up did start a quest. Died before I could accomplish it, but yes, dropping it did make it useful.

I just don't know of anywhere yet that a fishing magical object is useful yet. *shrugs* The Far East is full of surprises it seems.
