ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

The default hotkey setting on the Mac has hotkey 11 as "RIGHTPAREN". This appears to be effectively unusable (shift-0 just gives me one of the tertiary hotkeys..).

I can use the interface to change to MINUS. On a mac, this is sym:45 according to keybinds.cfg.

I have this same issue on Linux. I suspect it's a keyboard map issue. I have a US keyboard (PC104).

I've also tried assigning - (which is what the unShifted key between 0 and = is) to that spot, but it doesn't want to happen. Either I don't know how to change the key bindings, or it's unsolvable because - is special somehow. No idea which.

Weird, tyring to assign the key to any "normal" keys like let's say f, does not work ?
Doe the keybind screen correctly shows the new keybind yet it does notwork ?

This happens on Vista too... no clue how to activate hotkey 11 spot with keyboard beyond changing the keybind.

And I thought it was just me!

Oh! I just learned something....

Apparently when you are in the "Esc d" thing where you set key bindings, you need to CLICK on the thing with the mouse before you press the key, rather than just pressing the key with the mouse pointer hovering over the thing, the way you do in all the other places where you bind a key.

I now have hotkey 11 bound to MINUS. And if this character lives long enough to get that many skills, we'll see if it actually works....

Edit: ... she didn't. I made the mistake of actually trying to fight Bill this time, God only knows why. I haven't gone to the bottom of the Trollshaws in months. Well, I won't be doing that again any time soon.
