I didn't pick up the staff...

I didn't pick up the staff, and then left. I returned later, but wandering monsters had evidently snaffled it.

With the Staff of Absorbtion lost to the world, I guess the west is saved :-) Does that make me the first total winner?

The tale of the One Ring should teach you something...

Ok, but seriously:
- is it possible to make the staff immune to being destroyed while you're off the level? So that if you do drop it, you can always go back for it.
- maybe the next quest should start as soon as you kill the master? "You have slain the Master! In his hands was a dark and powerful staff ... perhaps you should take a closer look?"

Or you know, make it so that if the player changes level and the master is killed and the follow up quests are not complete that you get a message about orcs and then orcs are added too the tol falas normal npcs (their faction stays orc pride though) and if you don't kill uruk before you leave the zone, you get a message saying roughly "As you leave Tol Falas, you quickly hide as a contingent of orcs rushes past you whooping and hollering, stopping for a moment to regroup, the leader says 'Come on you lazy oafs, we must quickly go to the Destroyer and report our success!' You notice that he is holding a staff. As they leave you think that you should report this matter to the elders at Minas Tirith, perhaps they know something of this matter."

That would make the game more continuous and make it so that you do not have to pick up the staff, maybe it could affect later game stuff as well?
