Beta9 Bugs

The apprentice mage will not allow you to take his quest. You can't just hit 'enter' nor will it work if you click nor if you type the letter.

Found some walled off stairs in the sandworm lair and I'm a rogue with no means of targeted teleportation :(

No, the stairs spawned "outside" of one of the rooms, just south of the farthest south-west room to be exact, and the worms never went near it.

This. And I can't seem to wrap my head around this Lua thing at all. There are no error messages or anything. There's no indication at all why it just sits there and does nothing, not even closing the dialog box.

Huh, I am running a self-compiled revision 1020, which is one commit after beta 9. The changes in that revision have nothing that I recognize as quest or chat related. I just tested the apprentice mage with an archmage and a fighter, and both times I was able to talk to the apprentice mage and receive the quest (shows up in the log and the Quest Log). Can you explain in more detail what the problem is? Is the dialog missing options for you? Or when you select the "I will keep that in mind" option nothing happens? Or you don't even get to that point?

Since this is the "collect beta9 bugs thread":

Aren't the nests supposed to be reduced in b9? In 4 lvls of the Old Forest I already found 7 nests - and I was powerdiving and therefore maybe even missing something... Or is my luck streak just continuing and the RNG plays "merry folly" with me?

@Yufra: The bug works like this. You talk to the apprentice mage and go through all the normal options on the way to the quest, but when you get to the final option where you actually accept the quest, the 'accept' option doesn't work. It appears normal, you can highlight it and everything, but when you click it (or press "a" or enter or whatever) nothing happens. The game doesn't hang or freeze or anything like that. It just doesn't do anything. The second "I'll keep that in mind" option works fine.

Oh... I feel extra dumb now. I forgot I was sending stdout/stderr to a log file. I should've actually read the log file. Thanks for pointing it out.

Also, since this is a mega-beta-9-thread, what's supposed to be at http://te4.org/players/Your-Name ? I get some sort of template page asking me to create a node. I decided it was wisest not to click anything on that page....

A very minor bug: I got the Boots of Tom Bombadil yesterday and they are pre-identified (like the Quest artifacts).

There is a typo on /data/quests/mage-apprentice.lua:49 with "ans" in place of "and".
I can confirm that the quest is given if you make this edit.

The stairs I went down to enter the lair were walled off as well.
