I don't know if it's just me or not, but I'm not able to use mouse-move anymore in beta5.

The mouse interface was switched around. You move with left-click. You drag the map with Shift-left-click.

I've had the opposite problem of yours: moving when I didn't intend to.

Ahh, okay. Got it now. But now I'm having trouble with targeting the shift keys. If I try to move the info pop-up out of the way then the game thinks I want to use mouse targeting. If I leave teh black monster info pop-up there then sometimes it's hard to see where exactly I want to hit.l

(My comments are re beta 6, but same discussion...)

I have the same problem with unintentionally moving. I often do this after alt-tabbing out of ToME, then clicking on the window to bring focus back.

I also just lost a mid-level character due to my old habits -- I was trying to drag the screen using left-click drag, and my character ran interpreted that as repeated move commands, so it ran around until it died. :( I'm not sure if this will affect new players who don't have those old habits, but the left-click drag is a pretty common gesture.

Suggestions:

1.
Revert back to old behaviour of right-click for move. (Was this change to help Mac users?)

2.
or if you want to keep the left-mouse click, make it a little safer.
- Ignore drags; only interpret anything when the mouse button is released (MouseUp/MouseClick).
- Sometimes left-clicking towards a distant area results in a turn being passed (perhaps the character is running into a wall and wasting a turn?). A left-click move should either result in a movement or nothing (i.e. no turn is spent).
- Ignore clicks when the ToME window did not already have focus being the click. (Not sure how hard this is to implement...)

I'll forbid drags to move
