ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hello,
I just DLed tome4 a few days ago and I've been playing quite a bit since. I've not gotten very far (playing mostly hobbit slingers and I can't get past the Shadow of Angmar) but I did notice something odd.

I fought an anaconda and managed to kill it, but after it died, I was still being constricted. I drank some potions (healing and cure disease) and that didn't do anything and eventually I just suffocated. Do I have to do something else to start breathing again or is this a bug?

Also, using the default graphics, some critters blend in completely with their background. Black Mambas in the dungeon and green worms in the Trollshaws come to mind immediately. Really annoying when you think you're being careful and you find youself next to a Black Mamba.

The anaconda had spasms?

Same problem with me. I died from (R)esting after the battle because it seems that resting doesn't stop if you're suffocating. That shouldn't happen in my opinion.
