Arrows with different damage ranges stack together

Sometime I have elm arrows equipped, and elm arrows in inventory (unequipped). They are shown with different damage ranges. Taking off the equipped ones, or equipping the other ones, causes them to stack together. I haven't had enough chances at doing this to determine whether there's a way to force them always to take on the higher damage range or not.

Yes, they wont stack with ego ones but in the same type they will.
Not sure if they should not, this would mean virtual none would stack together it could be a burden.
I could even "justify" it, the damage change is minimal so it depends on the sharpness of the arrow, when you have them in your quiver you do not easily notice if they are very sharp or very+ sharp ..
yeah lame I know ... :)

I like the stacking for archers, the ability to have 200 or 300 arrows is a real boon!

If the stacking is in favour of the highest damage, then I am sure no one (munchkin) would mind...

My understanding is that the system knows what has stacked and gives the appropriate damage for the arrows.

DG?? Can you clarify?

Oh yes each and every arrow is its own object, no cheating :)

But in what sequence do they come out of the quiver? Is it random? Is it FIFO or FILO? Is it % chance of the stacked arrows? (ie if 60% of your arrows is 5-9 damage, and 40% is 6-10)... (which I guess is similar to random)...

In LIFO, when you add to a stack it adds to the end, and when you take from a stack it takes from the end too
