Want to play this char. to death before I update, but ... When I cast Aether beam in front of an enemy, and they walk over it, it disappears. I've seen melee mobs walk *away* from me to step on the beam and make it disappear, it's almost as though they know...
I don't know if the same thing happens if a mob casts the spell and I walk into the beam, I've never wanted to try that.
Attached is the output from some play time. I casted Aether Beam whenever I saw anything, and it disappeared before doing any damage as soon as a mob walked across it.
Let me know if you need more information.

Re: Aether Beam disappears [1.0.1]
I think that's intended. Aether Beam places a trap, which I believe NPCs can disarm.
For best results, place the Beam inside a wall.

Re: Aether Beam disappears [1.0.1]
Oh, thanks for the tip, that will help a bit.
Two things, though. The description says that the beam damages it's epicenter, but if a mob is at the epicenter, the beam disappates, so what's the point? Second, the description does not say that it's a trap. It's a beam, not a device.
I'm mostly just frustrated because I like the spell, but I feel like I can't use it to it's full effect. If it is working as intended, maybe the description should be changed to show that this is a trap?
