The character is currently stuck, since without an Assassin lord to kill, no stairs will appear and the rod of recall doesn't work in this quest.
I tried kill the process without saving once I realized I was unable to proceed. I reloaded from the auto-save on the 1st level of the tunnels, but each time I descend to the next level, there is no Assassin lord.

I've attached a text file containing entries from te4_Log.txt from just before entering Unknown tunnels (2) and ends with walking around then shooting one of the bandits.
