ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I have two questions. As someone coming from the Ultima series, as well as, the Silver/Goldbox series of TSR AD&D like DragonLance and Forgotten Realms franchises, I'm a bit confused; or not confused, rather more of looking for something.

1. Is there a way to “transfer” characters? I mean, after completing one storyline, the progress of that character can be continued to the next story.

2. Multiple save games instead of character-based savegames. I was testing something a few days ago, and my original game progress was overwritten by the game. It was only then that I realised the savegame feature is character-based. T_T

It's late but here goes.

I can't help you with 1. because I've only passed the mainline storyline. I don't have the expansions so I don't know about "transferring" your character.

2. You can have multiple characters if you name them different. A characters called "Joel", "Joel2". If you name the second one same, it'll overwrite the previous character after a confirmation.
