ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Returning to TOME after a while and then "logging in" in the client (purchased for money, by the way, from GOG), I can see details of my character, down to the last information about the last battle she was in, how much she hit for, etc. Very nice. Yet I cannot load a saved game. Apparently, there must have been some problem with the cloud saving function. Be that as it may -- what can I do to utilize the character? Is there any way that I can "import" her into a game, or generate a saved game based on the incredibly detailed information obviously saved on some servers somewhere? I assume I am missing the obvious, because otherwise all of this information about my character is utterly useless. Any tips very welcome, since I am not computer-savvy please not too much unexplained jargon. Thank you!

If it has been a while, the character is likely hidden by the Old Version checkbox.
It is probably a better idea to start a new character.

Thanks. I can actually see the character, it is not hidden at all. Sorry my post was somehow unclear.
My problem is that I cannot use the character in any game; I cannot load a game with the character. Is there a way to generate a game for it? Or is it just uselessly taking up server space somewhere?

I am unclear what you mean by being able to see the character, but unable to use it in a game.

Did you click on the character in order to load it, but couldn't find the load button? Most possibly a broken and/or incompatible add-on somewhere, if you have any.
At any rate, even without the load button showing up, you could actually click on the space where the button would normally show up and click there.
Try it, I managed to screw up one of my character this way, loading when the load button is not showing up due to incompatible something-or-other..

PS: in my case, I was trying to play on a new computer that's somehow missing the Forgotten Cult 'expansion', after playing on another computer that has FC installed AND just found the Fanged Collar.. RIP through OOG carelessness..

Do you mean you can see the character in the same way I can go and look at Mckwack's character here:

But that there isn't a save game associated with that character in your actual game folder structure? So there's no game under Load Game in the menu that has your character's name?
