I had two insane winners and all weapons I looted did physical damage.

Is elemental damage removed from the game? I hope no Most fun runs were always with a lightning swor, or bullets with fire damage, or daggers with mind damage and things like that

I am sad about it too.

It was fun using some random cold or acid or whatever weapon. It should be readded in the form of a re-forging option or something tbh

That really sucks! Those were some of the most fun and interesting weapons, also a way to bypass enemies with high armor or physical resist. Or the occasional enemy with an elemental weakness.

I wonder what the reasoning was amongst the devs. That for most builds they were useless?

Maybe they can add a different way to create elemental weapons

No, it was never a way to bypass armour.
Armour applies to weapon damage regardless of element.

the reasoning was that it gave weapons a 10% chance to be "useless" because non-phys weapon are considered useless.

for my part i'd really want a way to spend gold to change my weapon element. that way everything is phys based but you can change it if you want to do some fun elemental warrior
