Arcane Blade - random slime spit during dirty fighting?

so I play an Arcane Blade and each time (I think?) I use Dirty Fighting I seem to cast Slime Spit on foes? There's nothing in my talents or equipped items that explains it (and why would it be when using Dirty Fighting?). Is this some hidden feature of maybe Sludgegrip gloves I'm wearing? (the only thing I can think of)
On my previous run I also thought I cast some random spells that I could not trace (not flame or lightning or pulverizing auger) but I don't remember the log entry. Also happened when using Dirty Fighting.

When you use unarmed attacks you use your gloves. Gloves can have on hit and indeed, sludgegrip is 20% (iirc) chance to cast slime spit when you attack with them.
Those procs are a very important part of gloves and unarmed attacks.

Yeah but there's nothing about it in the item description!
The only thing it has that looks suspicious apart from stat increases is "talent mastery 0.20 wild-gift/slime", is that it? I assumed it increases the multiplier for effective talent level and since as Arcane Blade I don't have any category named "wild-gift/slime" (nor any such appeared after equipping gloves) I assumed it doesn't work for me (and anyway the multiplayer to work you have to put in points, zero times 1.20 is still zero).

usually, talents that grant unarmed attacks also reveal the on-hit. I guess dirty fighting doesn't. Being a brawler, learning Flexible Combat, or having Hidden Blades all reveal the tooltip.
In 1.6, you can enable to always see it but on 1.5 you need one of those talents (or others i have most likely forgotten)
It looks like this :

ok, so to make sure I understand correctly: gloves modify unarmed attacks? A little obscure but I guess if I played an unarmed class I'd have figured it out somehow... and dirty fighting being unarmed (I forgot!) gets those modifiers? but they do not display in the gloves tooltip unless you have the appropriate talents? but for some reason dirty fighting doesn't count as such talent... sounds like a bug to me. You say it's fixed in 1.6? 1.6 is currently in development I gather? Or is it one of the expansions?

1.6 is in development.
Just try and play a brawler and run into the glove-shops and check the gloves and gauntlets

. For brawlers the gloves are their weapons.
