What to do with leftover demon seeds?

So if you're like me (and I know I am  ), your Demonologist character has a huge inventory of demon seeds you're not using, to the point that it's starting to slow down the inventory dialog. Normally I'd transmo them, but that doesn't seem to be allowed. What, then, would the assembled commentariat advise me to do with them? Keep them? Ditch them somewhere? Pile them up in the fortress storage room? Bury them in soft peat for three months and recycle them as firelighters?

I also note that sometimes you'll fail to extract a demon seed because "you already have one of this kind with a same or higher level". [sound F/X: source diving] Okay, "kind" in this case apparently means a particular combo of demon type and attachment slot, so to avoid accumulating further useless demon seeds, I guess I should keep on hand the highest-level seed I've made for each demon/slot combo. [Can't tell from the code whether it also checks against demon seeds attached to worn items for this purpose…]

Doesn't check equipped ones.

I usually clean my inventory every once in while (read, 5 to 10 times max over the course of the game) and keep only highest of every type for every slot (since removing more is worthless as it'll get filled again)

Not sure how it makes inventory dialog slower? You mean takes longer to open? I didn't notice that though it moght depend on computer

Well, yes, that much I'd worked out myself; my question is, what to do with the demon seeds I'm cleaning out of my inventory? Do I need to keep them in the fortress? Can they actually be destroyed? (Transmogrifying doesn't appear to be an option.)

Yes, there's a small but noticeable delay opening the inventory dialog. I suppose my laptop is on the older side, and I do have… [counts] 119 demon seeds in my inventory currently.

Oh, i drop them.
Not like I'm gonna go back to the level later so as far as I'm concerned they're gone

Hilariously, you can use a demon seed as the Arcane Powered Artifact to get into Angolwen, but other than that, I just dump them off in a little pile somewhere. If you really want the maximum bang for your buck you can summon them in as actual combatants using Bind Demon's active component but it's pretty meh, at best.

I arrange them in my fortress and have a demon dance party.

Depends on what the seeds are and what escorts I rescued. For example, I'll want to keep a Forge Giant or Water Imp around if I have Premonition, because they grant a Mana using spell and native regen. All of which are useful in that case. There's also Far Strike, Silence, Doomed Nature, Disarm, Battle Call, etc. which are very useful in certain situations, and changing seeds is instant.

Other than that? They clutter the inventory quick, so while I'd like to just keep them around and filter them out for the sake of Bind Demon, I'd rather just drop them off in the fortress. Except for a few of each of the highest level I can find, because you never know.
