ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I'm having a heck of a time unlocking tinker classes/escorts in the original campaign. I've beaten Outpost Leader John as a Sawbutcher, Psyshot and Gunslinger, but haven't been able to unlock the Tinker metaclass as a result. Is it necessary to beat the EoR campaign to use Tinkers in AoA? Everything I've looked at says I've should I have unlocked it by now.

The only thing explaination for me is that one of the mods I downloaded through steam is unofficial, and prevents me from unlocking it. However, my current modlist is quite sparse, and I'm not sure if the mods one is using is even a factor when it comes to unlocks. Any help would be appreciated!

You have to beat the internment camp (as 2 different tinker classes?) To unlock tinkers in AoA.

A bit harder than unlocking AoA classes in EoR since you only have to beat sunwall for that one

Oh geeze, for some reason I thought the internment camp was the Sunwall Outpost. Somehow forgot about the Mindwall camp.

EDIT: For some reason, beating the internment camp again unlocked all classes in EoR, but didn't unlock anything for AoA. All the spoilers I've found suggest that I should have unlocked tinkers by now, as I've beaten Outpost Leader John with Sawbutcher, Psyshot, AND Gunslinger. Yet still no dice.

Cathbald was the one who was mixed up. Beating the sunwall outpost with 2 different tinker classes unlocks tinker escort in the main campaign. Tinker escort isn't guaranteed though, so you might not see results in any given game.

Tbf, he said he beat sunwall with all three tinkers so i figured it was the other unlock condition but didn't actually check xD

I understand the Tinkers escort isn't guaranteed, but I should have the Tinker metaclass unlocked in AoA at least, right? For some reason, I don't.
