Can on on hit spell effect trigger an on spell hit effect?

If a pair of gloves has 2 on hit spells (using flexible combat or as brawler), if those spells trigger and hit a target would that trigger on spell hit items?

Only one on-hit spell per turn (unless 2 or more trigger on the same damage instance)

Is that one trigger per piece of gear?

Example - Let's say I have Storm Bringer's Gauntlets which has 2 "on hit" spell talents. If one of those spell talents triggers can it trigger the "on spell hit" of the Fiery Choker?

The game doesn't know what piece of gear those effects come from. So it can't be once per item.

it does answer the question though, i said you can only trigger one spell-hit per turn.

so a spell-hit can't trigger another. as that would make two spell-hit. which you can't have.

Not talking about 2 on spell hits.

"on hit" and "on spell hit" are different things.

So if an "on hit" triggers a spell (Storm Bringer's Gauntlets casting on hit 15% Nova [a spell]) can the Nova trigger the Fiery Choker which is "on spell hit" 10% volcano?

So if the character punches a critter and triggers Nova which is "on hit" can Nova [a spell] trigger Volcano which is "on spell hit" on another piece of gear?

Yep, ToME4 has complicated terminology.

Not a problem, I just wanted to be sure about it. Wasn't sure if it would chain that way.

interestingly, I've noticed the volcanoes projectiles from Fiery Choker can trigger On Spell Hit effects from any gear. Spellblade sword will proc its spells. Exiler ring will get rethread triggered. Etc. Haven't tried it with Staff of Destruction or other similar items but I'd assume it works the same.
