ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I successfully escorted an Anorithil on level 4 of Dreadfall, and as a reward gained talent category Celestial/Light (at mastery 0..

However, my list of talent categories is: Race/Yeek, Technique/Combat Training, Spell / Conveyance, Spell / Divination, Spell / Aegis, and (locked) Cunning/Survival, without Celestial/Light being on the list! I have to scroll to see Cunning/Survival, so it's not just offscreen.

Thoughts?

Check the quest log, maybe you misclicked reward option. Or have some sort of addon (like Faster Adventurer Level Up Screen)

I did check the quest log - it's the only way I can spell Anorithil! I don't have any add-ons.

Did your game crash after receiving the reward but before saving? Tome saves the quest status very often, but no the current map and your char stats/skills so a rollback due to a crash can mean you lose quest rewards while those are still marked as done.

I don't think it did, but I don't remember for sure - I think there have been one or two crashes, and I don't remember if one was anywhere near there. If that's the problem, is there anything I can do about it? :/

Do you have the Hide Unlearnt Categories button ticked?

This is almost definitely it. Getting Light from an escort grants it locked, you've still gotta use a cat point on it.

Unfortunately, that's not it. I don't have that box ticked. Cunning/Survival is locked/not learned, and I can still see it.

Also there are steam cloud saves option, that can screw you badly. Do you have it neabled by any means?

I've never used Steam in my life, so I'd be surprised if that were it. I don't even have an online non-Steam profile.
