ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

This is probably a dumb question that I should know the answer to, but in my last character I was killed by my Golem 4 out of 10 times. I didn't realize this at the time (any of the 4 times) so I didn't look at the log that closely. How does this normally happen? Is it due to its reflective skin talent or is it going crazy and attacking me?

FYI, I still haven't won yet and trying to figure out how to do things better.

Usually when I see (or experience...) Golems destroying their master, it's because you were frozen. There's a thing in the code where your allies try to break you out of ice blocks, but they do that by punching the ice block. With you inside. Which totally deals damage to you, and can cause you to get smashed into little frosty chunks by your own golem.

Other than that, I don't know, but it's worth being aware that iceblocks are one of the most dangerous things that Alchemists can encounter for specifically that reason. Better keep that wild infusion handy.

Ice block are the main way of getting killed by your summons but if you damage your golem you will also take damage from reflective skin. So be careful when using items like Gwai's burninator

Doesn't chat return a message that your golem killed you when you die, assume control as the golem, and then die?

I think that only happens when you use Self-Destruct.

Pssst, there's this Heat Beam Rune which melts Ice Blocks and Stuns and somehow even returns weapons into your hands from Disarm.
