Hiya!

Old player here, I just bought the game bundle on Steam 2 weeks ago.
I still had (have) the free version installed.

When I started up the game in Steam for the first time, I was very pleased to see it automatically logged me in to my old profile, and I had access to my unlocks.
But I don't have access to the item vault, and my name is still listed in white in the chat list, instead of green.

People in chat pointed said that in order to be shown in green, and get access to the item vault, I need to link my old account to my steam account. How do I do that?

Try to go to te4.org and log in with your old account. After that, go to My Profile, then to Steam tab, and click Sign in through Steam button. That should do the trick.

Little side note: I tried that yesterday, through firefox browser. That did not work.
I tried it today by starting the game through steam, then opening by te4 profile in the steam browser by clicking the link in the game's title screen. I then followed your instructions again, and that worked.
