Doomelf unlock not showing on my profile

I just unlocked doomelfs by getting the achievement "The Old Ones", but I didn't get the unlock message, nor is it showing up on my profile. 
This might have something to do with me playing doomelf even before I unlocked them.
I don't remember how, but I think I did it by editing the file that's telling the game what my character is allowed to be at birth.
I'd really love to show off that awesome unlock now that I've got it!
