ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Well, I started to play on another PC (notebook actually) so I installed steam then game etc.
So, I happily played with my Time Warden through Insane, and then just looked on Prodigies - there were none from addons.
I checked addons active - Ashes of Urh'Rok and Embers of Rage shown as Auto: Active.
And now I looked and see I can't choose anything besides Maj'Eual campaign.

Can someone help me?

Both of the addons check their validity online at character creation - you might have noticed that neither Doombringer/Demonologist from Ashes, nor Embers campaign can be selected if you start a new character offline. If you start a character online and move offline later, the characters should work.

By the way, Darkgod, if you are reading this - this behavior is something I'm quite unhappy with. I travel quite a lot, and it's not exactly easy to get online during a five-hour train trip through the middle of nowhere. And even if I think ahead and create a character before the trip, I get killed frequently with no option to start that Doombringer again.

What do you mean - online?
I had my ingame name in main menu.
The only thing missed - I quited Steam, but I checked now - even with running Steam when I start new game I can't select addons campaign and of course new Prodigies and other stuff.

OK, if you were logged on to ToME server, then you are probably facing a different problem then I do - the symptoms, however, were similar enough for me to react (I do not play through Steam and bought the addons on the te4.org page).

When I was a sad pirate addons runned without any problems lol...

I currently don't have access to a machine with a steam copy of ToME installed, but I didn't think the steam copy showed your profile name on the main menu.

Well, before there was installed free version from site.
Could be that problem?
Also once I saw something like "something steam" in main menu.

Are you definitely launching the game from Steam when Steam is in online mode?
It shouldn't be possible to run the Steam version without Steam running.

I definitely running Steam version.





Also I have found in T-engine\4.0\ that now I have TWO "save" folders - first is old from free version T-engine\4.0\tome have folders - charballs save screenshots tmp vault and new (I think it is new because second screenshot was placed in it, but maybe I wrong) T-engine\4.0\boot which has folders - save screenshots.
But new character's save was created in old save folder.

Also game has "Steam" in option (but I can't make screenshot if I picked some option).

Also2 in case it is important I have only one addon - Quick Drown NPC.

Also3 when I tried option "Purge Cloud Saves" I got Lua Error lua 69 bad argument.

Are you launching the game from that icon instead of from inside Steam?

OK, so looks like problem is solved.

I runned ToME4 when Steam was running, and from steam-client, and game thanked me for purchasing two addons.

Also start of new game now looks like that.



I forgot - it is normal that I have no Ashes campaign right?
If yes all is fine, problem solved, dirty steam did all wrongdoing and touched me for sensitive parts.

There is no Ashes campaign, so I'd be more worried if you had one.
