What does +n eff mean?

I have seen effects such as spell save +6 (+2 eff). Does this mean that i'm not getting the entire 6 until later? Like only +2 is currently effective even though when I level up or do something else it'll eventually be +6?

Thanks,

Brian

There is diminishing returns on certain stats, so the +x eff is telling you how much your final stats will change by.

Past a certain threshold you need higher amounts of saves to raise the number substantially. It changes, color coded, to give you a general representation of the power levels. Grey for weak - around 0 to 10, white for basic, light blue for strong, blue for very strong, purple for extremely powerful (around 80 and higher). IIRC.

Forgive me if you already know this part : When a monster uses an ability that causes a negative status effect, their respective power is checked against your save. Physical skills vs physical save, ect. If your save is higher you have a chance to completely shrug off the effect or reduce the duration. But this is not reliable and it's preferable to use equipment that grants immunity % to negative status effects. You can have 100 physical save and a level 1 fox can still pin you. But if you have 100% pinning immunitythey have zero chance. If their power is higher than your saves it's a much better chance of it taking effect.

So it means that even though the item is +6 save, you're really only getting +2 to your 'real save'. This is basically to stop it being super easy to cap out on powers/saves, so the higher your stats go, the more points you need to get increases.
