Arcane Might and Bows

Hi there everyone. My question is whether or not Arcane Might works for Bows. The wording of the prodigy doesn't exclude the use of bows it simply says 'equipped weapons'. On the other hand I cannot find any reference online to someone using Arcane Might for a Temporal Warden which you certainly would if it was to work for both ranged and melee weapons.

It works, this is why it (along with PES) is the best offense prodigy for Temporal Wardens.

Thanks so much for the information. I am now wondering what PES is though.

Here is a link to the Wiki page on Prodigies: Prodigies

Check around for any Prodigy that PES would relate too.

PS: I feel like being extra mean for some reason and making people do work.

Ah sorry about that, I did look.
I had just read through all the prodigies on my character sheet and it didn't show up. I am just playing the vanilla version of the game so I cannot get it anyhows. Since str does nothing for TW it is a bit of a surprise that this would be a good damage booster. I assume you would need some pretty hefty + str items both to obtain and utilize PES.

I'll do a big Temporal Warden writeup someday explaining this in more depth, but I believe Arcane Might and PES to be the best prodigy combination for any difficulty below Madness. TWs already have defense mostly covered with Webs of Fate, Time Shield, Invigorate, Timeless, and out of phase buffs so as long as you don't have greedy gear you shouldn't need Cauterize or Draconic Will. Therefore you can get away with picking two offense prodigies. Arcane Might is a no-brainer because you should already be maxing Magic and have high uptime with Heroism thanks to Invigorate and Timeless. You don't actually need any Wil as TW because paradox is not a big deal if you don't waste it and you can usually survive minor anomalies. Therefore if I skip PES my stat distribution would be Mag > Dex > Cun > Wil, and with PES it will shift to Mag > Dex > Str > Cun. With Heroism on, you should usually have at least 100 Str, Dex, and Mag with Heroism, which means your bows get 255 damage from stats alone, plus you should hit around 100 effective physical power increasing your weapon damage by an additional 100 for 355. And this is all assuming your gear is on the weak end in terms of stats.

Thanks for all the explanations and answers Bpat. I actually watched a video you made of a TW fighting some guy from a pride, TW seems truly scary in the right hands ! I also noted in the video that your character had a LOT of unspent talent and stat points too.

Ah yeah that recording was from before I took PES, since I wasn't sure if I wanted it or Flexible Combat. If I had it and used a Perfect Strike pick, I would have actually been able to hit and deal damage, but instead I just took him down with a bunch of damage reflection and Rod of Spydric Poison. TW's offense is decent (only way to deal lots of damage is with these prodigies) but their mobility and defense are what really sells the class for me. I didn't spend many of my points because I didn't think they were needed, the only thing in retrospect I should have definitely invested more into was Vigilance, leaving it at 1/5 was pretty risky.

Is not spending the points like your own personal extra difficulty or do you just keep them in reserve in case you decide you need then later ?

Started as the latter but at some point became the former. I believe most strong classes (cutoff is somewhere around Summoner or Anorithil) have a handful of really good talents and the rest is just luxury. Like Temporal Warden doesn't need multiple points in any of its attack talents (except Blink Blade for the range) because they do enough at 1/5. Because of how diminishing returns work, a lot of talents aren't that much better at 5/5 than at 3/5, or even 1/5.
