ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Currently whenever I press R for auto rest with Orstan the level 44 Halfling Doombringer, she will not stop resting unless I interrupt manually, even when all resources apparently full. This does not happen with other character, so I suppose it has something to do with her talents or equipments. But I have no idea what it is. Can someone provide any insights?

Almost all of the time I've seen this happen it's been due to an addon that modified resting somehow messing up. Hard to say why it's specifically not working here though.

I disabled all add-ons by removing them from the folder "addons", but the problem remains.

It is not a good idea to remove addons in a game. Expect many many errors.
I have also experienced this kind of problem. And it has always been solved with ignoring it. Move your char with the arrows or mouse. And most probably the problem will disappear after another fight or in another level.

Whatever broke won't necessarily (or usually) be fixed by removing addons. Things that broke can stay broken, and as mentioned it can potentially break things even worse. You can temporarily disable rest before autoexplore in the game options. This will let you rest with 'r', cancel it once you're rested up, then autoexplore as normal. Oops, didn't know that is a bad practice.
I will keep playing and see if it fixes itself.
