I have been playing random characters to force myself to try lots of things and noticed my halfling summoner just now didn't get the 3 stat points I'm used to having to start with.

I notice the wiki says "You are given 3 points to distribute among the six basic attributes per level" so is this an exception? Are there others?

I've seen this happen before. A wild guess is that you might have not met the prerequisites for your first racial talent due to class penalty, so the game just assigned those stat points to meet these criteria. Certain other race/class combinations are affected as well.

Note that this no matter the character, this can only happen at the very start of the game. All characters get their three stat points from level 2 onwards.

Yeek demonologists start with -1 point and have only 2 to spend at level 2 ^^

Ah. Thanks. to both. It sounds like such combos are probably unwise but I'll live with it if it happens again.

It is entirely not a problem.

It entirely depends on stat requirements of your equipment.

In halfling summoner's case, Halfling gets -3 str stat and summoner does not give any str. So your base str is 7 (10-3). But base equipment of summoner is a rough leather armor which needs 10 str to equip it. Then game gives +3 str automatically to equip the leather armor, so your left stat point is zero

some time ago with new gem addon, starting as crystal golem alchemist, will get your golem(not this crystal, this from alchemist) nice starting stat points around -20, just he could wear his shiny 4-tier base armour and weapon
-1 stat for char is not easly visible. you would quickly repair it with stats on items

I'm starting to realise that +1 in a stat isn't much, yes. Should someone (e.g. me) update the Wiki to say you _usually_ get 3 stat points at character creation etc.? Since I've been playing for less than a week I don't think me altering the Wiki seems reasonable just yet.
