ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I have started as an Archmage and have said yes to the offer to be teleported somewhere. This seems to be a quest called Abashed Expanse.

But the entire screen is black. I've fired some lightning bolts into the blackness but get killed. Repeatedly.

Is this what's supposed to happen?

No, its shouldn't be all black.

Thanks. I guess I should try with the Marson's UI update removed and see if that's it.

"Searing halls" is just black too. Disabling Marson's UI ... still black, but if I move one space I can see things. Moving didn't help with Marson's active.

Sounds like shaders problem. IIRC both those zones use some "space" shader or something.

It only seems to happen on four squares (right edge of SE crater) in searing halls.

abashed expanse is harder to check since the map is variable.
