Hi, was playing archmage nightmare/rouglike level 21 pretty decent gear and setup. Met a named ooze and he completely debuffed me so all my sustained spells deactivated and went on cooldown and all my other spells too, couldnt do anything but die
Never happened before and Ive played a lot, what skill/ability did the ooze use? Tried to look in the message log but didnt help...

There's a few choices, offhand. Manaclash could've brought your mana down low enough to force your sustains off. disperse magic could've done the same, without destroying your mana. being silenced would throw all your talents into non-use, and oozing horrors have a way to pull you in + silence you.
Was it an oozing horror, or some generic ooze (not counting it's rare/boss status since it had a name).

well, for someone who plays on nightmare, one would think that you would "inspect creature" all things stronger than a critter.
by "named ooze" i assume a rare, or randboss.
what color was its frame?
an eazy way to disable all Archmage's sustains, is to use mana clash.
but as for other spells, i have heard that there is a "cross tier" effect, that puts talents on CD like the stun does.
it was mentioned in a conversation about mindstars somewhere in the "idea" section.
mana clash is a mind power, and "cross tier" procs on some mind crits? something like that.
so that would explain what happened. a very (un)lucky mana clash.

Brainlock crosstier would only put 1 talent on CD, other then the deactivated sustains, if it ws a crosstier proc off manaclash.

Thx for all the quick feedback!
It was a rare generic ooze, it must have been a mana clash that brought me too low and then probably a stun/brainlock on top that I didnt notice cause I was too confused about my sustains, didnt know they could deactivate from 0 mana. Well, time to get back in there
