I tried to put a Healing (over time) rune on my Golem, and I was told that type was not allowed.

Is there a list of what types of runes are or are not allowed for the Golem to use?

Regen is an Infusion, not a Rune.
Infusions and Runes are both types of Inscriptions.
Infusions are the nature ones and are green.
Runes are the magical ones and are red.

my question to you is... was that a rune at all?
if you take a closer look, you will know that your inscriptions, are divided into 2 groups.
runes:
shielding - gives you a damage shield, instant cast
phase door - like the spell phase door, releports you in a "short" distance
controlled phase door - as above, but you get to chose the location
teleport - teleports you a great distance
lightning - 100%dodge for the first damage of any turn.
acid wave - cleanses one magical effect, deals acid damage to everything in a cone (may also disarm)
heatbeem - cleanses on physicall, deals fire-burn to all enemies in a beam
biting gale - cleanses one mental, deals cold to all enemies in a wide beam. also freezes and wets them

infusions:
healing - heals flat amount
wild - all damage resistance for a few turns and removes one status effect, of a predetermined type.
regeneration - gives you a regen effect for a few turns
movement - increase your movement dramatically, but i believe attacking anything will end it.
there is one more but no one ever uses it, so might as wel not be there.

i also did not mention any artefact inscriptions, there are... 4 i think? s, r, p, t...

runes, are powered by magic
infusions, are powered by nature.

now tell me, what is a golem?

Its made out of rocks and sparkly gems. Thats all the lore I have gathered at this point.

But I guess what your hinting at is golems can use the RED ones, but not the GREEN ones, because rocks aren't nature!
