Questions About Equipment Statistics

Hello everyone,

I have a few questions about some of the weapon statistics.

After poking around the Wiki for a while, I found that the base power was a really strange way of calculating a damage multiplier range. I also found that by turning on the advanced weapon statistics in ToME that the mouse-over screen would calculate that for me (handy). But it also displays a "Power: X%" trait as well. What is Weapon Power, and how is that number derived?

It seems that in most cases, a bonus to a particular save results in an effective bonus that is halved, but not in all cases. For example, an item may have:

Spell Save: +6 (+3 eff)
Mental Save: +6 (+6 eff)

What causes this?

ToME uses a system of diminishing returns on power (physical, spell, mental), see here. You had more than twenty points already, so additional bonuses are halved.
