Alchemy Ingrediant Quest

Hi guys, I'm considering myself noob to Tome even after 100+ hours played in 3 weeks or so. Depth gameplay, I like the game a LOT.
My question is about Alchemist quests. Personnally, I'm always trying to complete the Elixir of focus and fondation first for the talent/generic pts rewards. On one character,I did them both. But on two others, the same ingrediant didn't drop for the elixir of fondation. It's the same : "Multi-Hued Wyrm Scale " wich is suppose to drop from the ruined dungeon according to wiki. Coincidence? I cleared all the lvls of it of course.
Should it I give up finding the ingrediant? Or it's possible to find it somewhere else before the end of the game? Can I farm the Zirguranth patrols for a chance to find it?
Thks, Tal

The Ruined Dungeon is not guaranteed to contain any alchemy ingredients. (Who wrote that in the wiki?)
You will eventually find multi hued wyrms.

daikara has some wysma, although i am not sure if you will find a multohued one there.
also, in certain armory there are 8 in one of the rooms, but that's extremely risky.

I have done maybe half the game yet (dunno, I'm in dreadfell) on both characters.. still whitout the Multi-Hued Wyrm Scale.
Also I don't know what exactly is the armory yet but I'll keep that in mind.

there is only 1 room, that hs 8 wyrms. 4 in the center, and ne in each corner... actually... maybe that was 4 in each corner?
anyway, you will get there eventually, and when you do, avoid that room.
as for the master-
he is a mage so silencing or stunning him would work. brawler's grapple can silence enemies, so that would make him harmless.
also a lot of his damage comes from his minions, so restricting his space, by summoning your own minions should work well.
he he does summon them, powerful AoE should take care of it, however, if given chance he will just summon more.
then there is the obvious, anti magic. knocking down his mana to 0 will make him unable to cast any spell, and disabling his aura will make his minoins take damage.

You can get ingredients either from the monster that drops them, or from adventurer's parties. The ruined dungeon can spawn a large variety of enemies, but I don't think I've ever seen multihued wyrms there (it is possible to get ritch stingers, though, which are otherwise mostly an endgame thing). Avoiding spoilers, it's very unlikely for you to find multihued wyrms before finishing Dreadfell, and the wiki page could probably use a clean-up.

Besides the armoury, which is very very very dangerous, there is also a garanteed (and much easier) multi-hued wyrm in a certain tower in Last Hope, when going back from east.
