So Strength of Purpose says you use magic in place of strength or dexterity for weapons/ammo. But is it supposed to include daggers/bows in that?

It doesn't mention Dexterity.
It lets you use Magic in place of Strength to equip weapons and ammo (there's a few odd ammo pieces that require strength). It also substitutes Magic for Strength in weapon damage calculations. For daggers and ammo that's generally 50% Dex/50% Mag and 70% Dex/50% Mag.
Basically the class is a Dex/Mag hybrid

Gotcha! That makes a lot more sense now.

Why doesn't that include armor as well?

Because Wardens are not meant to be a heavily armored class as a rule, I suppose.

Yup. Thematically they're not a plate wearing class.

What about leather armor though? Been playing some more and I get cool leather armor but they all have strength requirements as well. Granted it isn't a lot, a tier 3 needs something like 16 strength, but i haven't been lucky enough for +STR equipment.
Oh and since you have responded on here edge2054 I just wanted to say thank you for your hard work on the Chrono class rework. I think the TW class works much better now and the who bow/dual weapons combat is much for fluid and interesting. There are a lot of great talent choices so I think most play throughs can/will feel different.

Strength gear isn't that rare. Even if you go through a drought of it, you'll eventually get more than enough for leather, and probably enough for full plate if you keep an eye out for it. Keep in mind that the game only checks the strength requirement when you first equip it.
