Whats going on?
It emitted a strange noise...
I tried a couple more times and eventually it worked.

When you use it you get the 40 turn countdown until it pulls you out. If you use it again during that time it gives you a message and cancels the countdown. This leaves you with 100+ turns until you can use it again generally.
