Last question - do I need altar to get corrupted tree, or as Ghoul I'll get it without need to go Mark of the Spellblaze?

You need to corrupt it to get the corrupted tree. Which, yeah, sucks a little for the undead if they were looking for a new generic category.

Yeah, and if I want Vile life for Corrupted Shell, this is a huge pain.

Corrupted Shell required for 20 magical talents, so any magical talent tree will help.
