ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I picked up a pair of gloves that gives me the Track ability, but I can neither see it in the bottom pane, nor in the talents list. How do I assign it a shortcut? The only way to invoke it seems to be to click on "Use" in the inventory. I am sure I am missing something obvious.

With the inventory open, mouse over the item and hit the key combo you want it assigned to.

Or, drag the item from your inventory and drop into the hotbar.

I have accidentally unmapped a talent attached to an item a couple times but I found if you just unequip it and re-equip it, the skill pops up in the bar again.

Ah, yeah, that's another way. In the UI tab of Game Options, there's an "Always add objects to hotkeys" option. If enabled, it works as advertised.
