ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So, in the underwater dungeon before you get the fortress, I came across an Eldrith Horror (the enemy with tentacles that pop up around you)… these are always difficult to kill but this one proved impossible to even damage.

It had 500% resist all! What the hell?

I was only level 14 but I went back at level 24 and managed to do… 0 damage.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do about it. Any thoughts?

Kill the tentacles, it's like the mouth in that you can't damage it directly.

100% res pen lets you do full damage to it as well. I have killed in on Insane (or maybe madness i can't remember) with a buy with 100% physical res pen. I confirmed for my own curiosity that I did full damage.
