What does "Toggle list of seen creatures" do?

The keybinding list includes the above command, bound (I think) by default to CTab. It generates log messages "Displaying talents" and "Displaying creatures" when toggled, but appears to have no other effect, with either the Classic or Minimalist HUD styles.
I couldn't find anything about it in the wiki, and while this question was asked by someone else some time ago, no one replied.
