Damn critters

I was on my way to my first playthrough without dying. ( http://te4.org/characters/63484/tome/e8 ... 1ea1d75472 ). It was basically hack and slash gameplay. Hell, I beat one of the orc pride bosses by doing nothing but pressing numpad 5 (with regeneration infusions and mucus on auto). :P Then I got to that dungeon where the walls turn into critters. I remember having a pretty hard time there with my Alchemist winner so I thought since my Oozemancer is so overpowered, why don't I just kill all of them. Bad idea. I was happily hacking and slashing away without a care in the world and didn't realize the critters were getting stronger and stronger. And before I knew it, a gang of level 58 rares and one unique were kicking my ass. I tried to get to the exit but it was too late. After dying I once more entered the dungeon and beat a number of them but I was on my way to dying again pretty quickly and just barely escaped the dungeon alive.

Now my question: How strong can those critters get? Do I still have a chance to simply finish that dungeon? Or is it now just a deathtrap?

I think they heavily scale now to limit exp farming, so you need to do the thing you're there for and get the hell out of there.

Its a challenge dungeon. It keeps getting harder but you get achievements if you can beat the blobs.

okay, thanks for the answers guys. I think I'll return there once I've done everything else there is to do. Can I still finish the quest after finishing high peak etc or should I at least try to do the quest now and maybe go for the achievements after I've beaten the last boss?

Did you escape the lava path in time? The one in the desert that starts with a couple Sun Paladins defending you from oncoming Orcs. If you did, then yes, you've got all the time in the world after you win. If not, then it depends on how willing you are to sacrifice Aeryn.

But unless you have a much, much more fragile heart than the average Mario player, you should be fine to complete High Peak and then go on to Sludgenest.
