ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

First off, this has been an issue since I purchased the game, which was at least a month before Ashes came out. This is not a new issue.

What happens is that the game will default to playing offline, and any attempts I've made to go online are unsuccessful. So far, this has only cost me no Item Vault, but I would like to start playing online.

So is there any step-by-step guide to getting a Steam ToME game online? I'm probably missing something obvious, but that's why I'm here.

The game doesn't default to offline, but you have to give it time to connect at the main menu.

I have had a similar problem ever since getting Ashes of Urhrok. I am online, and chat as well as the vault work, but whenever I log on, it says "Online profile disabled (switching to offline profile) due to invalid addon hash (tome-ashes-urhrok-1.2.4). How do I fix this?

Delete Ashes and redownload it. Sounds like it was either modified or corrupted.
