ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I was wondering if there was a way to download your characters to play from the My Characters page. The character URL is the same as the one in my main computer's save directory, and I play on multiple computers (lunch break at work? More like ToME break).

So, is this possible or is the only way to transfer saves (cloud-wise) by using Steam? I know I can upload the save file to something like my personal google drive or carry it in a USB drive but all that is a lot of work considering I have to do it every time I leave the computer. Thanks!

From what I understand, the character pages are something akin to screenshots - it's just a copy of all the text and tooltips related with your character, not the actual data.

Newbie here... piggybacking this topic because it's so similar to my question:

I have tome installed on 2 macs. I thought I read somewhere when first installing that if I created an online account, I could share my characters across machines. But I didn't do that at first. I just played offline. Then I decided to put tome on my portable and wanted to play the character that I already had. So I created an account, played the same character as usual, and saved. I see the character in the "Character" tab in the online view. But when I use the game on the portable I can't figure out how to load the game. It doesn't appear as an option. And I am logged in. I can go visit the character tab from the protable and see the character, I just havent' figured out how to play it.

What am I missing? Thanks for any assistance. Great game!
