ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Shaloren starts with -2 str (8 instead of 10), but when I make a character, it has 10 str and 1 free stat point instead of 3. Is this a bug?

Characters automatically distribute stat points to be able to wear their starting equipment.
