death machine steamroller

So, i have a very dump question.

Since i manage to get to know the game better, even if i didn't manage to win yet, i can get to east pretty consistently.

I like overpowered killing machines, i like to be able to completely obliterate full rooms of mobs, to kill bosses in a couple of turns and so on. I am willing to take care of the char in the early game and start very slow, if i know that in the mid and late game i will be the unstoppable steamroller. I value high damage more than survivability, meaning i hate invincible chars that kill stuff very slow, a glasscanon that deals tons of damage is better imo.

So having all that in mind, what would be the best class/race combo to try?

I have unlocked everything, besides skeleton, marauder, stone warden, reaver, both psionics and necromancer.

In the talents tree i have unlocked storm and stone.

I am willing to get some specific unlocks if they are needed for my DPS god.

Thanks in advance for the advices.

Who doesn't love nuclear characters? Really... The feeling of walking up to a boss, and walking away three turns later is too good to pass up. :)

With your criteria in mind, Corruptor is probably a good choice. I've heard of their really nice damage output. Halting would probably be a good idea there, for the critical chance boost.

If you build them right, I've heard that Berserkers, Necromancers and Paradox Mages can all deal insane damages.

For classes to not try this with, I'd have to (un?)recommend Wyrmic and Solipsist. They're usually better at tanking.

Thanks a lot for the reply.

I was thinking about Archers, seeing how they are so powerful in the only other game i play at the moment - ADOM. Tried a couple aim bow archers, liked them, but couldn't keep them alive for long, since i was lazy when i did that.

Arcane Blade with the Steamroller Prodigy

Nightmare mode clear of the pride rooms in seconds with a silly giggling as everything exploded from Charge-hit (Charge resets) Charge-hit (repeat till room is dead)

I'm being totally serious when saying Wildfire Archmage and Reaver. Both are unlocks you're still missing but until then a Corruptor is pretty alike to Reaver, just remember to open the tree that has Overkill.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. I don't like addons and i don't use them, i'd rather play the game as the dev wanted it to be.

Without the addon Arcane Blade is not powerful enough?

Reaver i have no idea yet how to unlock and i'd like to stay just semi-spoiled, unless i have to spoil myself more :). As for wildfire, i have to check, i might be pretty close to unlock it, since i concentrated on fire damage on my alchemist, to unlock wildfire.

To avoid spoiler-y replies, you're probably well on your way to a Reaver already.

Pushing it here, but literally just keep killing. :)

Well, looking at achievements, i thought i need to kill 1000 humanoids to get it, not sure though. I know i need 1million fire damage for wildfire and same amount of cold for uttercold.

Some of those unlocks are really easy to know just looking at the achievement list, but the others are really tough :). For example skeleton race, i have no idea how to get it, but i don't want to spoil myself too much, i think it would be fun to get it without knowing how. I suppose it's somewhere in a dungeon i didn't visit, but not sure again.

I remember once when i got to world map there was a message of ground trembling, as i understood, this meant some new dungeon opened, but i didn't search for it and didn't find it. Not sure if it unlocks anything, but will try to find it nxt time :).

Am playing an oozemancer atm and it's going pretty well, still lvl 10, but it kills stuff very fast, although i think killing speed will be much lower later, since it seems to me a more tanky char.

Anyway, any suggestion on the race for that coruptor? Also for a reaver and a wildfire mage?

If you have necromancer, then you don't really need to worry about the rest of the unlocks, they will just happen by themselves as you play.

As for races, the Halfling Master race works with pretty much anything and the only bad combination I know of is Shaloren Oozemancer.

For your first corruptor, I'd recommend going with cornac. You'll need tons of category points, and anything that can help you get Bone Shield earlier is welcome. Shalore is also a good choice for the passive critical boost, and Timeless is typically awesome with any class that doesn't want to go antimagic. Thalore is another solid choice for all classes.

Besides Corruptor, dual staff reaver takes a little while to really get going but can get insane damage output, and staff shadowblade also dishes out ridiculous DPS by the end game.

No one suggested any addon, Steamroller is a Prodigy, a special skill you can learn at levels 30 and 42. :)

That's odd, Paradox Mages never struck me as being a high damage class, what did I miss? Gravity + Paradox Clone?

Ye, Paradox Mages can do quite a bit of AoE damage.

For Corruptor I gotta agree with Cornac as mentioned before for the same reasons.
For an easy Reaver start you might like a Halfling for Crit bonuses. Other than that anything pretty much goes.

For Wildfire Mage I prefer Cornac for extra category point or Higher for extra sight range.

For sheer overkill, crit chance + crit mult is the way to go. If you can get 100% crit chance and at least 300% crit multiplier you're pretty much set.

If you don't mind a slow start, I'd definitely recommend a rogue focused entirely on stealth. Disregard traps and poisons completely, max unseen actions, stealth, and shadow strike as soon as possible (and hide in plain sight eventually for the rare occasion stealth breaks). Stack as much stealth bonus and crit multiplier as possible, take Windblade at level 30 and watch almost everything drop dead in a single spin. For bosses that it can't kill in a single hit, cripple to halve their fighting speed, dirty fighting for either a stun or a free blow, deadly strikes for ANOTHER instant attack, and then flurry will probably do the job. If you can find a ring of misery bleeding edge + sweep deals heavy damage as well.

If you don't plan on using traps, Shadowblade completely outclasses Rogue in my opinion. You'll get significantly higher DPS thanks to Essence of Speed and Shadow Combat, and Time Shield, Shadowstep, Illuminate and the Conveyance tree have much more to offer than Scoundrel. Combat Techniques starts unlocked instead of Stealth, but you'll want both anyway and the former is much more useful at low levels. Don't pick Halfling with either stealth class, Shadowstrike will make you crit with every attack anyway once you get going.

Arcane Blade can do incredible amounts of dmg, I know nothing about Steamroller and how it work, but my first winner was AB, and it was fun.
