Why do I start in the deepest level when I enter a zone?

I'm now level 12 or so. Last few dungeons I've been to (starter ones), I've been starting in the last level (deepest). E.g. Korpul. Was next to the boss entrance here. A bit annoying as lorewise I read the tattered notes in reverse order now.

Some item that might do this? Here's my character:

As the popup says, the previous levels were so boring that you just skipped straight to the level with the boss.

It's a matter of your level when you enter the dungeon. If you are of sufficiently high level, the game skips you down to the lowest level so that you can just whack the boss and save some time.

There's an option (I believe) that lets you disable this behavior.

Uh-huh. I'd like to disable this. Any idea where that option is?

Ain't got the client here so can't test and see whether it's in the in game menues.

I don't believe it's a stock option, but Zizzo made an addon for it: http://te4.org/games/addons/tome/tier-1 ... uit-option

Not based off your level. It's based off the number of tier 1 zones you've cleared. If you've already done three, then you'll skip the bottom of the remaining ones.
