ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hi guys, still a little unsure about this one.
I am playing a nightmare zerker atm and I just really want to win (enjoying the challenge though), so I am taking all precautions.
I'm 42 and want to get my second prodigy (crafty hands was first).
I don't have the requirements for cauterize, but I don't want to DIE, so I have some questions:

Does healing mod affect the heal? (I have 50% from a socketed goeadalath rock, so it would be really nice if it did!)
Does the heal pop before or after fatal damage? (e.g if I am on 40% life and get hit for 50%, will I die, or be healed then take the damage?)
What is its interaction with unstoppable? (if I have unstoppable active, will it just be completely wasted?)

Draconic Body is just a regular heal; it'll be boosted by your healmod and blocked by Unstoppable same as any other.

Ah, that's a shame. I thought that it might be exceptional in some way.
