How much is the Flash Bang Trap if i buy it from the merchan

I heard if i save the merchant in Unknown Tunnels, i will be able to buy very powerful random artifacts in the late game.

Since I am a Rogue, i want to learn my second aoe trap Flash Bang Trap.

Two ways to get it side with the Assassin Lord or save the merchant and buy it from the merchant.

I want to know how much that trap is. If too costly, i will just side with the Assassin Lord and get a free one.

Thank you very much.

Saving the Merchant gives you the ability to buy artifacts from him once you go to the Far East. The artifacts are 4,000 gold each. As far as I'm aware, though, he doesn't sell traps. Just equipment.

I distinctly remember seeing the trap for sale from the merchant the last time I played a rogue, was it removed?

Vile poisons description says something about being able to buy poisons from merchants. If that's not the case then maybe that could be removed from the game.
On my opinion poisons are working nicely as they are.

He will only sell it to you if you have the Trap Mastery talent. Note that you can learn the talent later in the game and talk to him then, whereas if you don't have the talent when you side with the Assassin Lord, it's lost forever (likewise, if you enter the Maze without Trap Mastery, the Poison Gas Trap is lost forever).

3K????

That is too costly...well, seems i cannot afford it before lv 30.

Any suggestion for me on whether I should side with the lord?

Thank you very much for all answers!

Thanks for the clarification. I don't usually play trapping classes.

By the time you get to the point where it would be available, you'll have at least 5K gold, if not more. When I get back, I usually have around 10K. Granted, this is usually because I forget that I have the ability to go back and thus complete most of the dungeons.

You should really only side with the Assassin Lord if you want his prodigy, and Rogues have better choices. Sure, you need to spend 3k on the Flash Bang Trap, but if the Wondrous Emporium is closed, you won't have much to do with your money anyway.

You want to side with him at least once so you can get access to the Poisons talent group, but after that, I usually nuke him.

The trap isn't worth 3k in my opinion, but the ability to buy randarts for 4k is so good there really is no easy to side with the Assassin Lord once you've unlocked Poisons. The Tricks of the Trade prodigy would be outclassed even without that limitation, and giving up on up to 4 amazing randarts (if you get stone alchemy) for it is very, very much not worth it.

If you want an AoE trap, start hoarding every +Mag equipment you find and you'll eventually have enough to get the Mystical Cunning prodigy (an heroism infusion also helps, and those are great for Rogues anyway). The gravitic trap doesn't need to be triggered, so it's really more of an amazing AoE DoT spells that locks foes inside itself.
