Well, I'll have to start a new character but once I beat The Mouth, where is this Derth so I can go to these other dungeons? Also, is there anything I should be aware of?
Do shops ever restock?

u can leave the dwarf city through a staircase in the southwest part of the town to the worldmap.
be aware of adventurer parties, walking the worldmap. theyre pretty tough for a new player and u dont need to fight them.
about shop restocks theres a topic below in the dumb questions forum

Explore the wilderness. Derth is in the west of Reknor, at a long distance.
Before doing the other dungeons, in Derth try to find a NPC that will propose you a challenge in the arena. It gives you extra points for your talents, but the quest must be done before reaching level 10, iirc.
Shop do restore, but only a couple of times in the game.

Yeah... I know. *wry grin* I also learned not to autoexplore on the world map too.

So I beat the arena quest and 3 dungeons outside of the Dwarf area (undead place, trollmire, and old forest,) and then promptly drowned in the lake because those damn bubbles are almost impossible to see for me and my craptacular eyes. I'm switching to Ascii when I get there again.
Also I unlocked summoners and the box of ease. Yay!

You should have visited other easier donjons before doing the old forest. There are a two in the north-east of Derth (search a path in the woods) and two others in the south-west of Derth. This way you can accumulate experience before doing more difficult donjons including the old forest and the lake.

I had a feeling it was something like that. As it turns out, Ascii mode colors the dungeon entrances for difficulty. Cool!
