ToME vs ToME

Hi

I used to play ToME back in the day when ToME was Tales of Middle Earth. About the time when the new module engine was starting to be developed I moved on to other things. Now I have just picked up Tales of Maj'Eyal off Steam because I remember all the joy I got from Darkgods work. Cheers to them :D

Anyway, I love the new game but do wonder if the original ToME is available under the new module engine? From what I remember it was a different leveling skill system so could it even be ported?. I remember the symbiosis skill as being my favorite due to the extra HP for casters and just the "fun" of it.

Check this topic. Contains directions to download the last official version of ToME 2.x.x. You can also check that forum to find a fan-made release that fixes bugs and such.

Cheers :)

Thinking about it T3 was the engine under development when I last played. Its been some time but as of two minutes ago I can say I have just killed my first character in a number of years!

Farewell Halfling Rogue, you will be remembered as the first of many!

Technically, it still is. DG hasn't worked on it in ages though...

And the Angband Variants app on Play Store for Android phones and tablets has ToME 2 on it.
It's quite a nice pastime when on the road.

Darn... I do not want an iPad and an Android device ... To dump my iPad Air so I can play a decent Roguelike on an android device ... Ponder.
