Mindslayer -murder advice

So, what's the best way to go about murdering with these guys nowdays? I've won two but the class has changed quite a bit since then (and for the better, may I add).
Nowdays it seems TK-slot should be filled with a two-hander but whatabout your normal limbs a.k.a. hands?
Some ponderings:
Double daggers: Useless. Subpar damage, also because you will have a two-hander in your TK-slot weapon masteries don't match. You can invest in other weapon mastery but on the other hand, mindslayers have many things going on the generics department. Also you probably don't want to increase dex directly (you get it via Augmentation) so another nail in the coffin.
One-hander and a dagger: Definitely better than the above, better damage, weapon mastery matches TK-slot, dagger does some daggering on the side like with good "to-hit" effects.
One-hander and a mindstar: This is what my madness guy is wielding currently. Damage was better than my dagger, depends on the quality of the dagger and the quality of the mindstar though. Overall, better then a one-hander and a dagger, I'd say.
Double mindstar: worse damage than one-hander and a mindstar if you don't invest in mindstar mastery. If you do however, things may change. If you can spare the points another selling point of this arrangement would be leaves tide. Combine that with a forcefield, shields, heroism and a shielding rune and defences look pretty nice.
Two-hander: Weapon masteries match. I guess generally speaking a two-hander is still worse damagewise than using a one-hander and something on the off-slot. Depends on weapon finds too, some orange artifact weapons are killer. I'm not 100 % sure how some of the mindslayer attack talents work meaning if you get more benefit from them from using a two-hander or not. This kind of interaction would raise the points of this option, naturally.
What do you think?

Why did you restrict to a two hander in the tk slot?

Not OP, but I would guess it's because your TK-slot choices are either a mindstar or a 2h weapon. 1 handers are worse than 2h in this case, because it costs you nothing extra to wield a 2h weapon in your TK slot (unlike physically wielding weapons, where it costs you a shield/offhand)

Gems are also tk equipable.

IMHO Mindstar is no longer a valid choice for TK slot.

Im playing with a mindslayer at the moment and doing very well, ive been using a gem in TK slot from the start.
Im not sure how it compares to a twohander, but with frenzied focus, i get 9 turns of bolts doing 184 damage each, which is very significant (im lvl 34). Together with implode, it destroys solo enemies.
Not sure how gem compares to mindstar in TK slot, but +25 all stats on top of the gems' stats is not bad.

Ah okay, I just started a mindslayer earlier today and I'm not very well-versed in their various builds, unfortunately.

What did the gem do for you exactly before Frenzied Focus?

Big ol' stat boosts. It gives you the gem effects plus a lot of extra stats based on tier. (Something like +3 to main stats per tier, but MU is reporting higher than that unless he managed to nab a tier 8.33 gem.)

Does that include the Mindstar Mastery tree bonuses?

Psiblades does not have any effect on gem bonuses.
The extra stats are from Resonant Focus.

I'm having a hard time seeing how even +15 to all stats would be better than my current TK-weapon which has massacre and speed egos + extra accuracy for all weapons + monster anti-healing properties on top of that. It can hit for 150+ with just pressing "5" without any points in resonant focus nor frenzied focus. And this is at level 18 mind you, although with madness gear.
Your auto-attack includes situations like a) monster rushes/blindsides/lighting speeds/etc. you ---> free attack b) You mindhook an enemy ----> free attack (mindhook would suck otherwise BTW)
That being said, I don't know how high the stats can get with resonant focus and how the boni resonant focus offers to melee weapons and gems relate to each other but I'm sceptical.
Also, if implode checks saves for damage and effect then it will most likely become almost useless on madness eventually.

ummm, i thought this was a no brainer. here is my nightmare roguelike mindslayer winner:
http://te4.org/characters/2460/tome/7e9 ... dbafe674fa
mainhand dmg = 557, even higher for TK weapon.
the char sheet doesn't show the exotic mastery slot which opens up when you get the prodigy, and starts at 5/10. so after you drop in 5 more generics, you get this insane dmg.
save eq to get mindpower >= 100 and then crank reshaping. you can get 26 or more bonus that way. check out the bonuses on the two weapons

So you don't need the warrior escort anymore to be able to invest the extra 5 levels??
EDIT. I specifically exlucluded "the weapons that may or may not be good which you get after you get at the point you have completed 50 % of the game" originally from my list but if the warrior escort is no longer required, that thing alone potentially changes a lot of things.
You probably will still loose 1-2 points of generics in weapons mastery which you won't use at all after you have exotic weapons mastery and the tridents. Then again, the total investment would be 6-7 points which is the same I would use in a TK two-hander, one-hander and a dagger/mindstar.
Also, it does cost a prodigy slot and flexible combat will be weaker if picked with this set up than with two weapons + a tk-weapon. But the damage numbers do seem very high.

Prodigy also gives you trident that triggers additional hit (stunning blow) from time to time so it is not as bad as you might think. You put that trident into TK slot to increase odds of additional melee hits

I think I went through it in another thread, but a 2h in TK slot is a no brainer. 15 extra stats is completely irrelevant when compared to an extra attack.
