Deeprock form and Dwarven nature

Elemental split cannot be used while in Deeprock form but can the other talents in the Dwarven nature tree be used while in said form?
I'm playing a level 41 Stone Warden who is probably going to use his third cat point to unlock Deeprock and this has relevance in the decision-making process.
How do you see Deeprock comparing to Stone and Eldritch Stone overall? I unlocked stone alchemy so only one one of the aforementioned trees can be unlocked if going for 5 inscriptions. I have somehow managed to gather 22(!) unused class skill points so I can max whatever of the talents on those trees I want instantly

EDIT. After getting 2 artifact shields from the merchant, my Stone Warden now has a block value of 721 with the prodigies eternal guard and spectral shield. I guess my category choices don't matter anymore
